Women's clothing
This is the whole Forcast range in one place: every top, pant, skirt, dress, knit and jacket we make, in sizes 4 to 18. Forcast has been dressing Australian women for work since 1992, designing locally with an eye on what is happening overseas. The range runs from corporate suiting to casual separates and occasion pieces, for women who want one label to cover the whole week.
What you will find
Each part of the range is deep enough to shop on its own, so it helps to know where to start.
- Tops: satin blouses, shirts, knit tops and tees.
- Pants: tailored, wide leg, high-waist and adjustable-waist styles.
- Skirts: pencil, A-line and flared maxi shapes.
- Dresses: work, midi, knit and event styles.
- Knitwear: jumpers, cardigans and fine knits.
- Jackets and blazers: suit jackets and cropped styles.
Building a working wardrobe
Start with two pairs of tailored pants, one in black and one in navy, then add a suit jacket that matches one of them. Add three tops that work with both pairs: a satin blouse, a fine knit such as the Tania Crew Neck Knit and a collared shirt like the Milan Button Up Blouse. A midi skirt and a knit dress round it out, and from there everything you add already has something to go with.
Fabric and fit
Suiting is cut in blends with a little stretch, so pants recover after a day at a desk. Tops come in satin, cotton, linen and crepe, knits in cotton and wool blends, and the casual end of the range uses jersey, denim and linen. Shapes run from close-fitting styles such as the Emily High-Waisted Skinny Pant to roomier trousers and relaxed knits.
How to shop it
Sizes run 4 to 18 across the range; check the size guide if you are between sizes or buying a fitted style such as the Sandy Pencil Skirt. If you are dressing for the office, the workwear edit narrows things down to suiting and desk-friendly separates, while occasionwear covers weddings, parties and events. Finish with accessories once the outfit is settled.
