This Mother’s Day, Forcast celebrates the women who shape us through the traditions they pass down.

Across generations, food has always been a powerful expression of care, identity, and heritage. Recipes are often the quiet heirlooms within families - shared in kitchens, remembered in smells, and recreated across time.

Our Heirlooms campaign brings together mothers, daughters, and grandmothers from different cultural backgrounds to share the recipes and traditions that have been passed through their families.

Set in a warm home kitchen, we capture these women cooking together, telling stories, and gathering for a shared family lunch - all while dressed in Forcast.
The result is a campaign that celebrates family, culture, femininity, and the traditions that connect generations.

"Grandma’s Marinated Turmeric & Lemongrass Chicken is her own creation, shaped by her Chinese-Cambodian roots and passed down through our family over time. It’s an infamous dish in our extended household, while the recipe has been shared across many of us, no one quite recreates it the way Grandma does - with the perfect balance of turmeric and lemongrass. With that said, Monica has added her own take, reimagining it as rice paper rolls, a more modern way of enjoying something so deeply traditional."

"To us, an heirloom is something that carries a person beyond themselves. It’s the tangible proof that someone loved you or loves you. Their heart or their hands, caught in an object, a recipe, a way of doing things. An heirlooms holds a memory so it doesn’t have to live only in you. It really makes memories tangible.

Mother’s Day means the same thing to me. It’s not about a single day. It’s about everything quietly passed down. The things we absorbed without knowing. The moments we didn’t realise we were collecting until we needed them. Heirlooms is our way of honouring that - the women who shape us, and the pieces of them we carry forward."

"I chose today a very common and traditional family meal you’ll find on many Greek tables - Soutzokakia (meatballs in a tomato sauce). I see it as a dish that many cultures have their own variation of, and every family and home cook has their own 'version' as well. There is no right or wrong way, and sometimes it might even change each time it’s made, depending on whatever spices or seasonings are in the pantry that day!

I chose to share this dish because it's such a lovely meal to make on a weeknight, or to prepare in large batches when extra family is coming over - it just feels like home. My Mum has her way of making it, my Grandmother had hers, and this dish simply feels like family on a plate to me. It feels like childhood, it feels like adulthood - and seeing my own kids happy eating it too makes it all the more special."

"To me, the spirit of Heirlooms lies more in the experience of sharing than in what is being shared. It’s about the mother figures in my life (and for me, as a mum) - sharing meals, full tables, and the work that goes into a family gathering; preparing dishes that everyone loves. That, to me, is a true sharing of love. It’s more than just passing down a recipe.

I’ve watched my grandmother and my mum host big occasions all my life, cooking and preparing so everyone feels fed - not just in the belly. Family memories, dinners, and those special moments - that 'magic' - so often come from the effort and care of the mothers in a family. I hope I can continue creating those experiences for my children, nieces, and nephews.

Food often takes us back to those moments and feelings. It brings us together - it’s the catalyst. But the true heirloom I hope to pass on is that act of love and togetherness."

"Growing up, arepas were always present in family moments - they remind me of home, comfort, nurturing, often served with hot chocolate on cold days. I watched my mom, grandmothers and aunts prepare this recipe - so simple, yet filled with so much love and meaning.

Sharing how to make arepas is my way of honouring where I come from and passing a piece of that heritage on to my son, so he can always feel connected to his roots and the love that surrounds him."

"Heirlooms are more than objects or traditions, they can be flavours, gestures, words, and ways of loving that travel through generations. An heirloom is a bridge between past and future, a reminder that even ordinary moments can carry deep meaning. It is a way of preserving tradition, giving a sense of belonging, identity to who we love ♥︎"

"Mum and I made  Kousa which is a traditional Lebanese dish made from stuffed zucchini, typically filled with rice, minced meat, and spices, then cooked in a tomato broth. It originates from Lebanon and is a classic home-style dish passed on from generation to generation.

Kousa is meaningful to me because it was one of the first Lebanese dishes I had as a child and something I grew up eating regularly. My grandmother and mother both taught me how to make it, and it’s a recipe I now hope to pass on to my own children one day."

"Heirlooms, to me, are deeply personal pieces of memory that carry the presence of the people I love most. They’re not just things passed down - they’re stories, lessons, and moments that stay alive through generations. For me, it’s about my grandmother and mother teaching me recipes like kousa in the kitchen, and those small, everyday moments that become part of who you are. I hope others take from it the idea that heirlooms don’t have to be grand - they can be simple traditions, shared meals, or knowledge that’s passed on with love, and that’s what makes them last."
